Welcome to the Battle Ground Police Department Online Reporting System

Welcome to the City of Battle Ground Online Reporting System.
This online citizen police reporting system allows you to submit a report immediately to the Battle Ground Police Department.
The following conditions must be met to be eligible for online reporting.

 

If this is an Emergency, please call 911 immediately.

 

The following are the requirements to submit an Online Police Report:

 

• The incident you wish to report is not an emergency. If this is an emergency, dial 911.

• Did the incident happen within the City Of Battle Ground Jurisdiction? Click Here for map

• There are NO known suspects.

• The incident did not occur on a state freeway, highway, or state route.

• You must have a valid email address.

 

If you meet the requirements, you can file your report online. Please turn off your pop-up blocking software before filing the report.

 

The following incidents may be reported using the Battle Ground Police Online Reporting System:

• Burglary of an unattached garage, open garage, or shed
• Vandalism, Graffiti, or tagging (The damage amount must be less than $750)
• Hit and run - unattended property or vehicle
• Identity theft or fraud
• Lost property (Does NOT include a firearm or material threatening to public safety)
• Malicious mischief (The damage amount must be less than $750)
• Telephone harassment
• Theft (Does NOT include a firearm and the amount of theft must be less than $750)
• Vehicle prowl
• Vehicle prowl - Motor home

 

If the crime falls within one of the categories listed above, you are ready to file your report. If the crime does not fall within one of the listed categories, please dial 311 for a City of Battle Ground Officer to be dispatched.

Upon completion of this process you will:

 

• See the words: "Your online police report has been submitted" showing that your report is complete.
• Be given a police report reference number.
• Be able to print a copy of the police report to keep for your records.

 

All cases filed through the Online Crime Report System will be reviewed. Upon review, if further investigation is needed, you may be contacted. Once your report is approved, a Battle Ground case number will be emailed to you. Please be aware that filing a false police report is a crime under (RCW 9A.76.175)

What do I do if online incident reporting is not right for me?

If your incident is an emergency, call 911. If the incident is a non-emergency, call 311.


What if this happened in another city; can I file a report using this online police citizen reporting system?

No. If a crime occurred outside the City of Battle Ground, please dial 311 to be directed to the appropriate agency.


What if this happened on a state freeway, highway, or state route?

If this occurred on a state freeway, highway, or state route, contact the Washington State Patrol.


What is a known suspect?

A known suspect is when you or someone else knows the person or where to find the person who committed the crime or the vehicle license plate number the suspect(s) were in.

Graffiti/Tagging An unknown person causes damage to your property by painting graffiti on it or tagging. An unknown suspect does damage to your fence by painting on it.
Hit/Run Unattended An unknown person collided with your parked unoccupied car or property and did not attempt to locate your or leave a note. An unknown suspect crashed into your fence and damaged it and left without contacting you in any way.
Identity Theft/Fraud An unknown person uses your Credit Card number or other personal identifiers to gain services or merchandise without your consent. You found unauthorized charges on your credit card or somebody is using your social security number.
Illegal Dumping The depositing of rubbish, waste matter, or garden refuses in City streets in any manner other than those authorized by Clark County Placing appliances on a street where the individual does not live or during any time other than a neighborhood pickup day, dumping green waste or other household garbage on roadways
Informational Report You have miscellaneous information you want the police to know and are not concerned about documenting the information in a report for others to know about. You have information that your neighbor may be involved in criminal activity and you are not concerned for your safety or the neighbor knowing you reported this to the police.
Lost Property You have property that was misplaced or inadvertently left in a public place and cannot be found. You left your laptop on the top of your car and drove to your destination. The laptop was lost on the way.
Mail Theft Theft of US mail from a mailbox or receptacle. Letters, bills, etc. stolen from a mailbox or receptacle. Note: If any of your personal information or checks were used after the mail theft, please include this in the narrative portion of your report.
Telephone Harassment An unknown person is calling you on the phone with the intent to harass, intimidate, torment or embarrass you. An unknown person calls you repeatedly or at an extremely inconvenient hour, whether or not conversation ensues.
Theft When property is taken without your permission that is valued at $5000.00 or less. This does not include someone physically taking something from your person Items such as a bicycle from a yard, purse from shopping cart, taking property from a building/residence by someone that had permission to be there and took the property without owner’s permission. Lost property is not a theft.
Theft – Shoplifting Your property is taken without your permission during business hours. Items such as alcohol, groceries and other goods are stolen from your business during business hours or by someone that had permission to be there and took the property without owner’s permission. Lost property is not a theft.
Theft from Vehicle Property is stolen from your locked/unlocked vehicle. Items such as clothes, books, purse, garage door opener taken from inside your locked or unlocked vehicle.
Vandalism An unknown person causes actual damage to your property. This does not include vehicle damage caused by another vehicle. An unknown person causes actual damage to your property. This does not include vehicle damage caused by another vehicle.
