Welcome to the Washougal Police Department Online Reporting System. If this is an Emergency please call 911 immediately. Using this online citizen police reporting system allows you to submit a report immediately to the Washougal Police Department. The following conditions must be met to be eligible for online reporting.

The Online Citizen Police Reporting System makes it easy to report most non-violent crimes that occurred within the incorporated city of Washougal.

 

Can I file a report online?

  

If you answer NO to all of the following questions, you may file your report online. 

• Is this an emergency? If so, dial 911.
• Did the incident happen outside the city limits of Washougal? Click Here if unsure you are in the city limits of Washougal.
• Do you know the suspect(s) or where to find the suspect(s) who committed the crime?
• Do you know the license plate number of the vehicle the suspect(s) were in?
• Did the incident occur on a state highway?
• Did the incident involve firearms (used by a suspect or taken in a theft)?
• Did the incident involve theft of a motor vehicle or licensed trailer?

Upon completion of this process you will:

• See the words: "Your online police report has been submitted" showing that your report is complete.
• Be given a police report reference number.
• Be able to print a copy of the police report to keep for your records.
 

  

Please Note:

 

• All cases filed through the Online Crime Report System will be reviewed by Washougal Police Department personnel.
• In some cases you may be contacted for clarification or minor changes needed.
• In some cases the report may be rejected and you will be contacted by an on duty police officer to complete the report.
• After the report is approved a case number will be assigned.
• Upon review, if further investigation of your case is needed, you may be contacted by an on duty police officer.
 

 

Filing a false police report is a crime


A person who knowingly makes a false or misleading material statement to a public servant is guilty of a gross misdemeanor. "Material statement" means a written or oral statement reasonably likely to be relied upon by a public servant in the discharge of his or her official powers or duties. (RCW 9A.76.175)

No, if a crime took place within the unincorporated area of Washougal or the city limits of a city in Clark County, please dial 311 to be directed to the appropriate agency. Bias Incident Bias incidents involve actions committed against a person or property that are motivated, in whole or part, by bias against race, color, ethnicity, national origin, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, disability, age or religion. Verbal or written slurs, derogatory remarks, jokes or comments.
Burglary Business When closed for business, every person who enters a shop, warehouse, store, or other building with the intent to commit a crime. An unknown person to you enters your closed business without permission and takes items from inside.
Burglary Residential Every person who enters any house, room, apartment, shop, warehouse, store, or other building with the intent to commit a crime. An unknown person to you enters your house without permission and takes items from inside.
Financial ID Theft Someone other than you obtains credit, goods or services using your Social Security number, Driver’s License number, credit card numbers, or other identifying information. Someone opens a credit card account or phone service using your S.S.N., Driver License, credit card or other personal identifying information.
Harassing Phone Call Unwanted phone calls of an annoying, harassing or threatening nature. An “unknown” person calls and immediately hangs-up or uses obscene language.
Harassment Incident Harassment by another person. A person persistently annoys you or creates an unpleasant situation either verbally or in writing. Note: This is “documentation” of an “incident” that has occurred and does not rise to the level of a crime. If you are injured or your property is damaged select the appropriate crime classification to file a “crime” report.
Hit/Run Property A hit and run is an accident where the driver of a motor vehicle does not stop after being involved in a collision with your property. Damage caused by another vehicle in which the driver should have left information or fled the scene without stopping to exchange information. Note: Online reporting is available when there are no injuries and you do not have the license plate number of the other vehicle or you do not know the current location of the other vehicle.
Hit/Run Unattended A hit and run is an accident where the driver of a motor vehicle does not stop after being involved in a collision with another vehicle. Damage caused by another vehicle in which the driver should have left information or fled the scene without stopping to exchange information. Note: Online reporting is available when there are no injuries and you do not have the license plate number of the other vehicle or you do not know the current location of the other vehicle.
Illegal Dumping The depositing of rubbish, waste matter, or garden refuses in City streets in any manner other than those authorized by the City of Washougal. Placing appliances on a city street where the individual does not live or during any time other than a neighborhood pickup day, dumping green waste or other household garbage on city streets.
Informational Report You have miscellaneous information you want the police to know and are not concerned about documenting the information in a report for others to know about. You have information that your neighbor may be involved in criminal activity and you are not concerned for your safety or the neighbor knowing you reported this to the police.
Lost Property Your property is lost or missing and you want the police to be aware. Items such as a purse or wallet is missing and you are unsure if it was stolen or lost. Lost property is not a theft.
Mail Theft Theft of US mail from a mailbox or receptacle. Letters, bills, etc. stolen from a mailbox or receptacle. Note: If any of your personal information or checks were used after the mail theft, please include this in the narrative portion of your report.
Non Injury Accident Non-Injury Accident where information was exchanged. You and another person were involved in a non-injury accident and exchanged information. Your insurance company wants you to file a report. If you have already contacted police dispatch and were informed the police were coming, please do not file on our online system. Note: Any driver, pedestrian, pedal cycle or property owner involved in a collision within the state – with $1000 or more damage to any one unit and/or injury to any person – must complete a Motor Vehicle Collision Report. However, if a police officer is present and indicates he/she will submit a collision report, then you are not required to submit one.
Theft Your property is taken without your permission. Items such as a bicycle from a yard, purse from shopping cart, taking property from a building/residence by someone that had permission to be there and took the property without owner’s permission. Lost property is not a theft.
Theft – Shoplifting Your property is taken without your permission during business hours. Items such as alcohol, groceries and other goods are stolen from your business during business hours or by someone that had permission to be there and took the property without owner’s permission. Lost property is not a theft.
Theft FROM Vehicle Property is stolen from your locked/unlocked vehicle. Items such as clothes, books, purse, garage door opener taken from inside your locked or unlocked vehicle.
Threats Incident Threats made in person, in writing or over the telephone. Threats made in person by someone you don’t know, in writing or over the telephone. No specific date or time known. Note: The threat must be believable, and not just something said in anger.
Vandalism Graffiti Defaces or damages property with graffiti or other material. An unknown person spray paints the side of your fence or house, writes or draws on a building, sidewalk, fence, etc.
Vandalism Other Defaces or damages property by any other means. An unknown person knocks down your mailbox, breaks a window, key’s a vehicle, etc.
Type Bias Incident
